Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps young people understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Through CBT, children and teens learn practical skills to recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, respond differently to worry, and build confidence in managing anxiety and big emotions in everyday situations.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

Exposure and Response Prevention is a specialized form of CBT and is considered the gold-standard treatment for OCD. ERP supports young people in gradually facing feared situations, thoughts, or sensations while reducing compulsive behaviours and avoidance. Over time, this helps anxiety decrease and allows young people to regain a sense of control in their daily lives.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy focuses on helping young people relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them. ACT encourages skills such as mindfulness, emotional awareness, and values-based action, helping clients move toward what matters to them even when anxiety or discomfort is present.

An attachment-based approach that helps families strengthen emotional connection and respond more effectively to a child or teen’s emotional needs.
